Terms

Terms of use

Plain terms for reading the site and buying the Hard Bop Starter PDF.

This is a practical notice, not legal advice. The site owner can update it. Last updated October 4, 2026.

The site

The Blue Hour is an independent jazz listening guide at thebluehour.studio. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Blue Note Records. Dressmor, LLC (Renton, Washington) is the company behind the Stripe account. Prices are in US dollars.

The digital guide

The only paid product is the Hard Bop Starter, a personal-use PDF for $9. It is a one-time download, not a subscription. Checkout is on Stripe. Washington sales tax is added on top for Washington buyers. Other tax, when it applies, is whatever Stripe calculates and shows at checkout.

The PDF is delivered right away through the link on Stripe’s hosted confirmation page (a Google Doc PDF export). Because you get the file immediately, we do not offer routine refunds. If that link fails, contact us through the method on the About page and we will help you get the file.

You may keep and read the PDF for your own use. You may not resell it or republish it.

Site content

Writing, layout, and the studio logo on this site are owned by The Blue Hour / Dressmor, LLC, except credited third-party portraits and pages we only link to. Portraits are Wikimedia Commons photos with credits on the artist pages. Radio station pages and Amazon pages belong to those sites. We do not sell the portraits.

Some Amazon links use Associates tag dressmor0b-20. We may earn a commission from qualifying purchases. That does not change the price you pay Amazon.

Age

The site is not directed at children.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, and Renton, Washington is the place connected with the seller. If a local consumer rule where you live gives you a right these terms cannot take away, that rule still applies.
